Saludos a todos.
Este es el reportaje de la gran aventura que tenido la suerte de compartir con tres compañeros tan locos como yo, durante nuestro viaje por el Atlas.
Al final hemos sido cuatro los que hemos ido, JOSERRILLA ( del foro de Embarrados, de Ciudad Real, con una DRZ 400 E), SAMUELSON ( Club Trail Andalucía, Sevilla, XR 400), SERA ( Club Trail Andalucía, Sevilla, XR 600), y yo con mi DRZ 400E.
Hemos tenido mucha suerte durante todo el viaje, sin complicaciones serias y siempre muy buen rollo entre nosotros.
Esta crónica que os pongo a continuación no la he escrito yo, sino mi compañero Sera, y lo ha hecho tan bien, que no quiero cambiarla para nada, os la pongo tal cual:

LOS MOTONAUTAS EN EL ATLAS.

Nos levantamos a las 5:30 horas y sin embargo cogimos el Ferry en Tarifa por los pelos. En la Gasolinera de Vejer de la Frontera, mientras repostábamos siendo sobre las 8:30 de la mañana , vimos pasar a nuestros compañeros de viaje Joserra y Vito, acoplados a sus suzukis con macutos amarrados en la parte trasera de la moto, solo podían ser ellos a esas horas y con esas pintas.

En la frontera de Tánger coincidimos con varios 4x4, que tiraban de carros cargados de motos de enduro KTMs. El trámite en la frontera se hizo largo, e hicieron ir y venir a Samuel por un error en la numeración de la Visa.

En nuestra primera jornada hemos llegado hasta Meknes, todo carretera, ¡Que miradas echábamos a las pistas y caminos, que nos salían al paso! En el trayecto, tuvimos que agarrarnos bien a las motos, ya que había un viento huracanado que prácticamente nos tumbaba. Hemos decido quedarnos en el Hotel IBIS, un lujazo que nos permitimos en previsión de penurias que pasaremos en días posteriores.

En el Hotel hemos coincidido con un grupo de moteros portugueses, llevan motos Maxi-Trail, Varadero, V-Strom (2), GS1200 Adventure, calzadas con unos espectaculares neumáticos de tacos. Nos comentan que han estado en el Atlas y al parecer les ha llovido bastante y las pistas han tenido bastante agua.

Pusimos rumbo al Atlas en una etapa de carretera hasta la ciudad de Midelt, puerta de entrada a los tracks con los que nos recorreremos el Atlas. A la altura de Azrou, nos paramos para hacer la típica parada con los monos del bosque de cedros. Son unos monos inteligentísimos, expertos en el manejo del turista, comprobamos su sagacidad y que solo responden ante un buen puñado de cacahuetes, de lo contrario se van, no valen piedras, papeles, plásticos u otros objetos que Samuel y Joserra trataron de encaramarles. Mientras tanto Vito recordaba a los monos de Gibraltar y su afición por lo ajeno y el latrocinio.

Quizás por tener nuestros pensamientos en las pistas y tracks que nos esperaban, el exceso de puño en un tramo señalizado a 60 como velocidad máxima, hizo que unos gendarmes marroquíes nos cazaran con su radar. Estaban escondidos detrás de un muro, confundidos con el terreno y salieron de inmediato a darnos el alto. En un primer momento se mostraron celosos de su trabajo, con semblante serio solicitaron a Vito y Joserra la documentación de la moto. A Samuel y a mi nos conminaron a continuar la marcha, al parecer no habíamos rebasado la velocidad estipulada. Unos obsequios, unas risas y unos chistes, bastaron para atemperar la rigurosidad en la aplicación de las normas legales y salir indemnes del incidente con la gendarmería.

Ese día debíamos quedarnos en Midelt, era el final de etapa estipulado, eran las 17:00 horas, pero decidimos avanzar en la etapa del tercer día, internarnos en el Circo de Jaffar y dormir a mediación de la etapa del día siguiente. Estábamos deseosos de pisar la tierra de las pistas que veíamos desde la carretera. En vez de quedarnos descansando, decidimos arriesgarnos y comenzar la ruta del día después, nos establecimos como objetivo llegar a Tagoudit, situado a mediación de etapa, aparecía en los mapas como un pequeño poblado, sin garantías de tener un albergue, de esta forma ganábamos medio día y pisábamos las pistas que con tanto anhelo habíamos observado desde la carretera.

Retrocedimos unos kilómetros por la carretera que nos había conducido a Midelt, y tomamos una pista en buen estado que salía a izquierda conforme al sentido de nuestra marcha, con unos kilómetros iniciales asfaltados que preferimos no usar siguiendo en paralelo a la misma por una pista anexa. Veíamos las montañas nevadas en la pista que nos conduciría al Circo de Jaffar.

En la pista nos detuvimos junto a unas niñas, que no tardaron en solicitar obsequios, primero unos caramelos y después algo de ropa. Su padre se acerco a pedir unas pastillas para el resfriado. Tantos caramelos como pastillas les fueron entregadas, percatándonos en ese momento de que uno de los tornillos del trasportín de Joserra se encontraba suelto, tuvimos que repararlo in situ.

El circo de Jaffar es un desfiladero pedregoso, de conducción muy técnica y atenta, ya que el firme lo componen piedras de diferentes tamaños, con escalones, arena y agua, flanqueado por dos paredes laterales y frecuentes giros a izquierda y derecha revirados y acompañados de un hilo de agua y charcos dispersos por la pista.

El sonido de nuestras motos retumbaba en el desfiladero, avanzar se hacía duro y lento, alertados por el ruido de nuestras motos y multiplicado por la orografía del desfiladero, bajaron dos personas de aspecto bereber corriendo por la pared del desfiladero, eran pastores deseosos de acercarse a aquellos turistas osados y de que durmiéramos en sus hogares. Estuvimos charlando con ellos y Vito les invitó a unos cigarros.

Saliendo del circo de Jaffar, empezó a anochecer, momento en que nos perdimos al no tomar la pista correcta, afortunadamente una vez que se hizo noche cerrada, ya habíamos encarado la pista correcta y conducíamos cual si estuviéramos en un rally nocturno, navegando con nuestros GPS. El camino tenía frecuentes charcos y tramos embarrados, por lo que eran frecuentes las sensaciones de perdida de adherencia en los neumáticos y el golpear del agua en las botas.
Yo tenía la sensación de estar perdido en medio de una cordillera de montañas y pensaba en la posibilidad de tener que conducir toda la noche o tener que dormir a la intemperie, de todas formas ello no era un problema ¡ya estábamos haciendo las pistas que tanto habíamos deseado!

Tras circular casi una hora por pistas curvas propias de ascensión en pista de montaña y alcanzar las cumbres, pasamos por un par de poblados, que podrían haber sido lugar de morada para aquella noche, si no llega a ser por el comportamiento de sus habitantes. Jóvenes y menos jóvenes al escuchar nuestras motos nos rodeaban entre griterío y solicitudes, tocando nuestras mochilas con el objetivo de obtener algún trofeo entre nuestro equipaje mal acondicionado. Recuerdo como le decía a Samuel, que iba el primero. ¡No te pares no te pares! Y terminábamos entre los nativos dando vueltas en círculo hasta decidir cual era la pista que mas se asemejaba al track del GPS. Los habitantes de mayor edad sin embargo, muy al contrario que los jóvenes exaltados nos servían de guías en los cruces de las calles de los poblados.

Recuerdo que me puse nervioso cuando Joserra dio un traspiés, tratando de evitar que le abrieran la riñonera y a punto estuvo de irse al suelo dando un manotazo a un chico que trataba de agenciarse su riñonera de las herramientas y utilidades varias.

Esos no eran pueblos para pasar la noche, y fue entonces cuando después de unos kilómetros de pistas rápidas en medio de la oscuridad de la noche, apareció un cartel del Albergue “Gited´etape” en un cruce de pistas, cambió nuestras frías caras, indicaba que estaba a cuatro kms y dentro de nuestra ruta. Situado junto al pueblo de Agoudim telf.061082043, hubiéramos pagado lo que fuera para quedarnos allí a dormir.

Dormimos en colchones sobre el suelo que nos supieron a la cama de un hotel de 5 estrellas, y aunque el lugar era muy austero, resultó ser el albergue más auténtico de todo el viaje y al precio de 400 dírham, alojamiento, cena y desayuno (los cuatro).

Llegamos con el frio en los huesos, ya eran más de las 23:00 horas y debieron ver el frio en nuestros semblantes y entender las peticiones de Samuel, por que encendieron una estufa de hierro, que nos falto tiempo en rodear para calentarnos.

Haciendo recuento de nuestras pertenencias en el Albergue, Vito se percató de que le habían hurtado una bolsa de mapas, afortunadamente el más importante no iba en la bolsa.

Salimos del albergue de montaña en el que nos trataron con gran esmero, despidiéndonos con un magnifico desayuno de homelette estilo marroquí y otras delicias.

Tomamos una pista de árboles centenarios de grueso tronco y estilizadas ramas, seguramente cedros tan propios de esas latitudes. La pista discurría entre las laderas de dos montañas, sembradas de un puñado de cedros en ocasiones y tupidas de ellos en otras, confundiéndose la pista con un rio no demasiado caudaloso que nos veíamos obligados a vadear intermitentemente, entre piedras.

Por fin llegamos a Imilchil, un pequeño pueblo de aspecto turístico, con bastantes bares y albergues, junto al bar en el que comimos había un mecánico, que resultó ser quien nos suministró gasolina a granel y repuso los tornillos del trasportín y la estribera en las motos de Vito y Samuel, perdidos en los pedregales.

Repusimos nuestros depósitos con gasolina guardada en bidones al doble de precio que en una gasolinera, tras recibir explicaciones sobre el transporte y evaporación de la gasolina, proseguimos la ruta rumbo hacía algún punto intermedio entre Imilchil y Boumalne du Dades.

Comenzamos a navegar, guiando el cuarteto alternativamente unos u otros, si bien en un determinado punto Vito dejo de seguir su track en la pantalla del GPS, pasando a navegar Samuel y un servidor. Posteriormente nos percatamos de que Vito dejó de seguir el track, por que el que seguíamos Samuel y yo era un track alternativo al original creado ad hoc, para hacer frente a posibles dificultades del track original. Seguir este track nos hizo tomar un rumbo erróneo, pero disfrutar de unos bellos paisajes, ya que pasamos por las zonas más altas de la cordillera. En una de estas cumbres encontramos un puesto de minerales, cuyo regente no se encontraba en esos momentos en el lugar, tomamos un par de ejemplares de las piedras más representativas y dejamos tres euros, que suponíamos colmarían las expectativas del dueño del puesto.

Al percatarnos de nuestro error en el seguimiento del track original, ya habíamos hecho demasiados kilómetros como para retroceder sobre nuestros pasos, así que decidimos tirar por la pista principal y encomendarnos a Alá, que es el que manda en esas tierras, a ver dónde salíamos.
Afortunadamente en un cruce en el que no terminábamos de decidirnos por la mejor pista, nos encontramos con un ceutí de extraño acento español, ataviado con un traje de chaqueta, corbata floreada de luminosos colores y riñonera de colores fluorescentes estilo finales de los 80. Nos aclaró algo las ideas y nos puso en dirección hacia la Garganta del Todra. Nos había situado en el mapa, le dimos mil gracias y enchufamos rápidamente por la pista que nos indicó, ya que el sol empezaba a desaparecer en el horizonte. Originalmente la pista que debíamos haber tomado nos habría llevado a la Garganta del Dades, pero el error en el track, nos había hecho desviarnos unos 30-40 kilómetros por el valle equivocado, de todas formas todos coincidimos en que el error nos había hecho disfrutar de unos bellos paisajes, !bienvenidos los errores con semejantes resultados!.

Las iniciales estribaciones de la Garganta del Todra se nos aparecían majestuosas, cuando el sol nos envió sus últimos rayos decidimos pararnos en un albergue de piedra situado en pleno desfiladero.
En el albergue, nos dieron el clásico recital de timbales, además de una sesión de magia, con vasos, agua, monedas, llamas... por cierto Samuel destaco en la práctica del timbal.

Tras levantarnos y desayunar partimos desde el mismo Todra en dirección Tinehir, disfrutando de las maravillosas vistas de la Garganta y de la desastrosa impresión que provoca un enorme hotel situado en la parte más representativa del desfiladero.

Atravesamos la ciudad Boumalne du Dades en busca de la pista por la que pondríamos rumbo a Tirsal, tuvimos que preguntar en varias ocasiones, siendo unos pastores quienes nos pusieron sobre pista correcta. El camino se encontraba en obras, muchos operarios algunos de ellos niños, arreglaban el firme y loa laterales de la pista. Pasamos a un grupo de ciclistas de montaña guiris.

Tras muchos kms de pistas y cruces, llegamos a un pueblo situado junto a un rio que nos vimos obligados a cruzar, muchos chicos parecían indicarnos la zona por la que realizar el vadeo, pero no tardamos en darnos cuenta que lo que aquellos chicos buscaban eran espectáculo y que lo que nos indicaban eran las zonas mas complicadas, pedregosas y profundas. Pasamos con bastante dificultad e inmortalizamos el vadeo con un video.

Una anciana pastora, nos confirmó la ruta a cambio de unos caramelos. Amesker era nuestro objetivo más próximo, según los mapas. Al llegar a Amesker preguntamos a varios habitantes, albañiles y conductores de burros a reata, por la ruta a Tirsal, encontrando respuestas divergentes, aunque la mayoría apuntaban hacía que la ruta de Tirsal debía hacerse por una pista existente antes de llegar a Amesker, rumbo Oeste. Nuestros Tracks y mapas sin embargo apuntaban mas bien hacia atravesar Amesker y coger una pista a sus afueras.

La pista que nos indicaban los habitantes de Amesker, nos llevó hacia “el pueblo de los niños vergonzosos”, cuando tratábamos de inmortalizar con una foto a los 20-25 niños que rodeaban nuestras motos, estos salían despavoridos entre medio de gritos. En unos minutos Samuel y Joserra rodeados de niños recitaban sus nombres y palabras en español, siendo coreados por los infantes, como si estuvieran en el cole. Mientras tanto Vito y yo tratábamos de entendernos con el anciano del pueblo y otros mayores que nos informaban de la forma de llegar a Tirsal por pistas, si bien la ruta que nos indicaban suponía llegar casi a la altura de Ouarzazate, haciendo casi cuatro veces mas kilómetros de lo que nuestro track recorría.

Nosotros convencidos de que nuestro track atravesaba la cordillera acortando las distancias, si bien por algún paso dificultoso, pusimos rumbo de nuevo a Amesker, dispuestos a atravesarlo y tomando con ilusión la pista que salía del otro extremo del poblado.

Después de seguir una pista que se confundía con el pedregoso cauce de un río, llegamos a un pequeño pueblo, donde había un albergue cuyo regente Brahín (http://CHEZBRAHIM.googlepages.com), guía de montaña, nos informo de la imposibilidad de cruzar por el momento la montaña, si bien el paso se encontraba en obras y próximamente sería posible atravesarlo. Tanto Brahim como su familia nos trataron de forma exquisita, por lo que siempre lo recomendaremos como alojamiento para viajeros. Decidimos comer en la casa de Brahim, y retroceder sobre nuestros pasos hasta al menos Boumalne du Dades.

En nuestro regreso volvimos a tener que vadear el dificultoso rio, en el que los niños apunto estuvieron de conducirnos al hundimiento de nuestras motos en las aguas. En esta ocasión no contentos con esto habían colocado piedras y troncos, que nos vimos obligados a saltar y esquivar. Afortunadamente salimos de las infantiles trampas indemnes y no sin algún que otro traspiés.

Al alcanzar la carretera que conducía a Boumalne du Dades hubimos de pararnos de nuevo en un taller donde volvieron a atornillar de nuevo la parrilla de Vito, ya definitivamente hasta el final del viaje.

Dormimos en un Hotel de Carretera sito entre Boumalne y Skouna “la Rosa damasquina” a 77 kms de Ouarzazate, ya que la luz de nuestras motos no nos permitía conducir con seguridad.

Nos levantamos y tomamos dirección a Ouarzazate por la carretera, llevábamos bastantes kilómetros por ella cuando decidimos divertirnos junto a un palmeral, en el cauce de un Oued seco, y de paso grabar unos videos. Vito aprovechó para adelantarse y buscar una farmacia donde encontrar un remedio a sus molestias estomacales.

De nuevo en unos montículos de tierra, abandonamos la carretera para disfrutar de cortados y subidas, grabar y sacar fotos. Allí fue donde Samuel se atrevió a subir un cortado bastante empinado y escalonado, brindándonos la oportunidad de preocuparnos primero y reírnos después bajándose precipitadamente de la moto y abandonándola en paralelo al suelo.

Al llegar a Ouarzazate pasamos unos minutos visitando una tienda de alquiler de motos de enduro con guía, TTR 250, Xr 400, KTM 400, XR 650...

Tras repostar, tomamos la pista que nos llevaría a travesar el Atlas en perpendicular a la cordillera. Tras coger la pista aparentemente correcta, discurríamos en paralelo al menos 5 kms al track. Tratamos de buscarlo, atravesando diversos valles con grandes inclinaciones y numerosas piedras.

Dadas las dificultades para alcanzar el track acompañada de alguna caída, y amagos de otras muchas, decidimos buscar una pista encarada en la dirección correcta aunque no coincidiera con exactitud con el track que nos mostraban nuestros GPS, finalmente lo mas parecido a una pista, resultó ser un rio seco, con bastante arena y piedras, y en el que se vislumbraban algunas rodadas de vehículos. Las rodadas después de 30-40 kms abandonaban el cauce y marcaban claramente una pista que se dirigía en dirección a las grandes montañas del Atlas.

Encontramos junto a la pista un pozo en el que nos refrescamos, pese a las advertencias de Vito de que pagaríamos cara nuestra osadía con una grave pena si nos pillaban malgastando agua.

Después de pasar por un desfiladero de ensueño la pista empezó a ascender escalando la cordillera entre curvas, el objetivo era el poblado de Asermó.
Llegamos a un alto, en el que vimos a tres mujeres y un poblado al fondo del paisaje. Las bereberes nos señalaban un camino pedregoso e inclinado para llegar al poblado, a la vez que se alejaban de nuestra presencia y Samuel y Joserra las hacían huir a base de fotos y preguntas. Llegaron a dejar sus instrumentos de labor en el suelo, tomándolas nosotros y amenazándolas con llevárnoslas, a lo que respondían indignadas dando gritos. Posteriormente descubrimos que las mujeres nos habían indicado el camino más dificultoso, habiendo otro bastante más llano y despedregado, por lo que merecieron las burlas que Samuel y Joserra les procuraron.

Finalmente y con gran dificultad descendimos por la trialera radical, con numerosos sustos, caídas y amagos de ellas. Al llegar al poblado unos albañiles nos confirmaron que nos encontrábamos en la pista correcta hacía Asermó.

Después de bastantes kilómetros, disfrutando como hasta ahora de bellísimos paisajes, que nos hacían parar constantemente a fotografiar, salimos a una carretera, cuyo asfalto recibió los besos de Vito. Posteriormente una magnifica carretera de curvas reviradas nos hizo disfrutar de una conducción técnica y atenta.

Cuando nuestra espalda y sus inferiores, ya necesitaban un descanso paramos a tomar un te en un Albergue-bar anexo a la carretera, siendo colmados por la atenciones de su dueño, quien nos invitó a subir a su tejado para realizar unas estupendas fotos.

Finalmente hicimos fin de etapa en Demnate, Hotel Atlas, en el que acogimos a un chaval de Agadir que al parecer se había quedado sin trabajo y dinero y no tenia donde dormir aquella noche.

Amaneció lloviendo, así que modificamos nuestros planes de tomar una pista de unos 100 kms que nos llevaría a las Cascadas de Ouzud, por asfalto. Necesitábamos un chubasquero para Joserra, tras preguntar en una tienda, su dueño hizo de guía a Samuel y Joserra recorriendo las estrechas y olorosas calles de la zona comercial y céntrica de la ciudad. No aceptó propina.

Buscamos el Parque nacional de restos de dinosaurios aunque la fuerte lluvia nos hizo desistir y dirigirnos directamente hacia las Cascadas.

Al llegar a las cascadas a medio día dejó de llover, preguntamos en el primer hotel que vimos, y nos quedamos en él, pronto nos dimos cuenta del error, las duchas estaban de pena, agua caliente averiada, los baños de asco y nuestra habitación minada por cacas de gatos. La habitación daba la impresión de ser la celda común de una cárcel turca, como bien apuntó Joserra. Para acostarnos Vito repartió toallitas olorosas que colocadas en nuestro pecho, maquillaban el olor y Samuel Roció la habitación con colonia Paco Rabanne.

Las cascadas eran preciosas, y de gran envergadura, había numerosos turistas, y unos monos a los que perseguimos en busca de tomarles el pelo.

Vistamos un molino artesanal de harina, enseñándonos su dueño su funcionamiento y enojándose bastante al no dejarle una recompensa.

Sobre las 6:00 de la mañana nos sobresaltó el ruido de un serrucho, que más bien parecía una sierra eléctrica, una mala postura jugó a Vito una mala pasada.

Habíamos quedado con el camarero en tomar el desayuno a las 8:30 horas, pero eran ya las
9:00 y dormían en el interior del bar, en el mismo lugar en el que el día anterior habíamos comido.

Nos esperaban muchos kilómetros de carretera, claramente nuestro viaje giraba hacia su fin, tras comer en un restaurante de carretera con grandes humos y olores a carne asada, tomamos de nuevo el asfalto.

En paralelo a la carretera discurría una pista embarrada, que nos atraía. Finalmente y siendo el primero que se introdujo en ella Samuel, Joserra y un servidor siguieron sus pasos y disfrutando de una conducción divertida. Yo no me resistía a grabar un video, así que tome la carretera sacándoles unos metros, y hasta parar en el lugar en que mas barro había. Allí tome mi cámara y me puse a grabar. Primero a Samuel que al entrar en el banco de barro descendió en el horizonte bastantes centímetros, el barro salía despedido en masa desde su rueda trasera por los aires, pudiendo levantar el vuelo al tomar algo de velocidad tras unos metros. Joserra venía detrás a menos velocidad, y cayó lateralmente embotado por el barro, corrí a ayudarle resbalando y cayendo junto a su moto, todos reímos mucho rato.

La última noche queríamos dormir en un hotel lo más civilizado posible, así que pensamos hacer noche en Rabat, y así poder disfrutar de una cena en el Mac Donald´s. Con el afán de arañar a la ruta el número máximo de kilómetros, y así al día siguiente ir más sobrados de tiempo, decidimos pasar Rabat y pernoctar en Kenitra, ciudad más o menos grande, alojándonos en el hotel Mamora. Finalmente cenamos en el Mac Donald´s y nos dimos un festín de pastas y pasteles típicos.

Tras un desayuno buffet, tomamos la autopista y se nos hizo curioso cómo cunden los kilómetros al circular por ella.

Hicimos unas compras en la medina de Tánger.
Al llegar a la frontera nervios y estrés, al llegar al ferry justo unos minutos antes de su partida.
En Jerez Llovía y al llegar a Sevilla Samuel y yo, chaparrón del 15.
